Oslo MdG (Green party) goes against their own city advisory

Oslo MdG (Green party) goes against their own city advisory and for urban ecological culture neighborhood in Hauskvartalet (Haus neighborhood) 14/02/2016 The green party’s representatives in Oslo spoke against their own city advisory when they voted for the solution that the residents of the neighborhood have put forward, against the sale of the area to residential capitalists. The proposal was voted forward and uncomfirmed messages say that 100 voted for and only 4 against, which underlines the decisions clearity. The rushed resolution was the very first case that was voted on at the yearly meeting of Miljøpartiet de Grønne in Oslo and constitutes so far the last chapter in the updated series about the future to the Culturehouse Hausmania and Living- and workingcollective Vestbredden Vel Vel. Stop the sale “The road from here for Hauskvartalet is not yet deliberated by the city council.

Oslo municipality has used huge recourses on regulating the neighborhood, now one should secure that the intensions are realized”, it’s called in the resolution that saturday was voted through. There, the regulation measure from 2008 is emphasized, which says that the area is regulated to “urban ecological culture neighborhood”, something the resolution claims not has been taken into account in the sale of the property. It was the last city advisory that facilitated this process and it’s planned to be completed by the incumbent one, despite it being MdG, together with SV (Socialist Left wing) and Ap (Labour party) that have taken over.

– We’re very happy about the support and commitment from the districts and members in Mijøpartiet de Grønne. Unfortunatly it’s to late for the third alternative. There’s put too strong prerequisits in the tariff, and the developers plans for completion, for it to be possible to secure user participation through the whole process, says Ole Pedersen, one of the enthusiasts for the urban ecological alternative, to Radikal Portal

– We are a private developer, we’re not buying this to take care of those who live there today, has owner and boss of Urbanium AS on an earlier occasion stated to Osloby.

Despite the scepsism to the sale plans before the election from Rødt (Red party), MdG, SV and Ap it’s only the first mentioned who has followed through on the resistance in the city council and for the three others in the city advisory.

In october last year the city council stopped the sales process temporarily, but later set on the sale that correspond to the plan of their predecessors in the right wing city advisory. In the three points that are listed up at the end of the resolution, it’s stated that MdG Oslo wants to stop the sale, and if the sale is not pulled out they wish that “the deliberation of Hauskvartalet is postponed so that the city advisory and the city council has more time to familiarize themselves with the case and consider how the municipality can secure a realization of an entirely urban ecological culture neighborhood in line with the intentions of the regulation”.

If a sale can’t be counteracted, the party’s oslo grass root will go for a third option: “that buyer facilitates alternative housing forms, and that one secures real user participation through the whole process” according to the regulation plan.
